Now What?

2 minute read

It is only 6 hours after my last exam and I am already bored. No better time than now to tell you all how my week has been. Since last Tuesday (last day of classes) I have been studying really hard for my 3 finals, with a "Sopranos" sprinkled here and there. My first final was on Saturday... Saturday evening! It wasn't so bad though... It was in Computer Science 61a, my best course. In terms of personal performance, I bombed the test, getting 50/70. However, I performed near perfection the rest of the semester so my final grade in the course is an A-.

Saturday night, at Casa Zimbabwe, there was a social event called "Special Dinner" that I attended after I got out of my final at 8. This is the "cream-of-the-crop" meal for the semester. The Co-op blows about $5,000 on the most extravagent dinners and deserts we can make. Unfortunately, it is not aimed towards vegetarians so I had the usual stuff and many desserts. I went to bed early and hungary. Early because at 10:00 AM on Sunday morning, Radiohead tickets went on sale. Jason Wexler and I decided to forgo the overnight trip and we left CZ at 7:30 am. We were #11 and 12 in line. At ten, when the tickets started selling, it took the people in front of us forever to get through because the were using creditcards instead of cash! I was the first perrson in line to not get tickets - I am really glad I covered all of my bases! Mike was online for me at CZ getting 2 tickets! So now I get to see Radiohead at the Greek Theater in Berkeley, a venue almost as small as the Paramount (where I saw Tool in Oakland).

The rest of Sunday brought more studying and "sopranos" for breaks, then Up early Monday morning for Math54 Final. This one I was really worried about as I had a real hard time with the last few weeks of the course and the whole course was multiple choice! Any test that has multiple choice is great for the memorization courses, but for a test where partial credit is a must, multiple choice is unheard of. Needless-to-say, I was pleasantly surprised when it turned out to be pretty easy.

More studying the rest of Monday then all-of-a-sudden, around dinner time, I start to get a sore throat and congestion. By the end of the night, I knew I had cought the cold that has been floating around the house. I didn't think too much at the time but when I woke up on Tuesday, I knew it was going to cause some problems. I had an incredibly hard time concentrating on my studying all day, and I was up all night coughing and blowing my nose. I thought I was going to fail my test this morning. I was not prepared enough and I partially blame the sickness. I walked out feeling like I got a high C on the final.

I refused to shave over the past week, as it is now tradition that I don't shave during finals. First thing I did when I was done today was get rid of my beard. But I didn't stop there....
